What is a Cannelé?

A cannelé is an iconic traditional French pastry from Bordeaux.

It's baked in a special mold, which gives him this signature shape and unique texture.

In Vietnam, it is sometimes compared to bánh bò, but they are very different.

bánh bò is a simple local cake but a cannelé is a refined French pastry, made with eggs, milk, vanilla, and rum, slowly baked to create its caramelised shell and creamy heart.
